The Searchly MCP server is at https://app.trysearchly.com/api/mcp. It uses stateless Streamable HTTP: every request authenticates with your workspace API key.

  1. As the workspace owner, create an expiring key in Settings → API Keys. Enable workspace API access when creating your first key. Start with the read permission.
  2. Open Settings → MCP to copy the server URL and example configuration.
  3. Choose a client that supports Streamable HTTP and custom authorization headers. Set Authorization to Bearer YOUR_SEARCHLY_API_KEY, replacing the placeholder with your key.

Configuration formats vary by client. Keep your key in the client's private settings, outside source control. The example contains a placeholder, not a usable credential.

Replace placeholder keys and IDs before running an example.

Choose permissions

#

Permissions are independent. Grant only the permissions needed for your assistant's tasks.

PermissionAllowed work
readRead workspace, project, reporting, content, and connection metadata.
writeCreate or edit project resources and content.
generateUse paid AI features and enqueue measurement, audit, opportunity, or content work. These operations also require write.
publishApprove exact content versions and request delivery. These operations also require write.
integrationsInspect provider resources with read, or manage connections and crawler credentials with write.

A key with generate alone cannot generate content, and write does not imply read. Existing subscription entitlements and plan limits still apply. See authentication and scopes for key expiry, revocation, and workspace access.

Revoking a key, disabling workspace API access, key expiry, or an owner ban blocks the next request, including tool discovery. MCP keys cannot manage other keys, account security, billing changes, team authority, or background worker controls.
